What is a Cap

In terms of Broadband, a Cap is usually associated with products that are charged additionaly for exceeding a usage limit. Some plans will incur a Price Cap when you reach a specific amount of extra Megabytes over your monthly limit. E.g. Your monthly download limit is 10Gigabytes, a Price Cap of $50 is implemented and charged when you reach 500 Megabytes (10c per meg) over this limit (10.5GB). After which, a possible scenario could mean that you are speed limited (shaped) after reaching this limit although you may not be charged for any further usage fees.
