What is Latency aka Lag

Latency is the result of process taken for a service to deliver a message. Your computer and the game server needs time to decode the messages sent to each other and execute an operation. Latency comes from the influences such as player, information or network loads, processor/ram effectiveness, network connectivity and other elements that all add to the amount of time packets take to go back and forth.
