What kind of equipment is required to obtain Broadband?

You will need a PC, Mac, or Laptop that has a Network card or Mobile/Wireless Card for Wireless. Peripherals such as a Modem or Router will be required in order to get Internet Access for Cable and ADSL services. A mobile Card or Modem will be required for Wireless, while for Satellite services you will need a Satellite Dish installed, cabling and a special Modem.

What is a Modem?

A Modem is a device that enables your computer to transmit data. Computer information is stored digitally and a Modem can convert this data to be transmitted using a variety of different forms such as analog or digital.

What is a Router?

A Routers is a device that forwards data along networks and determines the best path to take. They are commonly used at points where one or more networks meet (e.g. LAN & ISP Gateway).

What is Mobile Card?

These devices slots into a port (e.g. on your Laptop) and allow users to connect to the Internet from almost any location. You can view Mobile Cards along with many other Wireless Accessories here.

What is an ADSL/ADSL2+ Filter?

An ADSL/ADSL2+ Filter can be attached to your phone line to cease any interference that may occur with Broadband Internet and Phone line communications run simultaneously.
